London al fresco

Dining outside is nothing new, but it is a popular phenomenon in London.

There are many different ways to eat outside; a quick bite to eat while walking to the tube to a candlelight dinner in Covent Garden, Londoners love to eat outdoors.

There is something special about eating outdoors at this time of year. Spring has sprung, temperatures are rising and summer is almost definitely on its way.

"It’s a lovely day, we flew all night to get here”, a Texan on vacation (holiday, if you are British) told me as she finished the last of her pastry. "London is an amazing place and we didn't want to waste any time". Her husband was just as eager to explore the city. They didn't realise they were exploring in that very instant.

London is one of those rare places where you can find delicacies from all over the world. The irony of this struck me as I turned a corner and found an American confectionary store in the heart of Covent Garden.

There are so many culinary gems to be found in Covent Garden, and theatre-land as a whole. The Icecreamists is a must visit. On sunny days like this day, it is hard to get served. After a half hour’s wait, I realised that getting inside to grab some shots of their frozen treats was going to be impossible.

In a small space, you can sample the best of British or the newest tastes from the Orient. This unique opportunity is one that has not been replicated elsewhere.

The bustling streets and performances from buskers create an atmosphere that is unique for your meal of choice. Washing it down with a glass of wine as you watch the world go by can also be the perfect end to the perfect meal.
